Rain Modern Chinese opened in November 2013, offering contemporary Chinese cuisine specializing in modern authentic Cantonese fare, and on the weekends, dim sum brunch served on carts. Our menu features a range of traditional dishes, old favorites, and eclectic new creations, from crispy roast duck, a zesty General Tso’s, and shrimp-stuffed chicken lollipops.

Rain is brought to Lark by Frank Lee, owner of both Shoguns, in Delmar and Albany. Rain Modern Chinese represents a return to his Cantonese roots, updated with contemporary concepts and influences. 

Cantonese cuisine utilizes mellow sauces, made from natural broths and juices, aiming to preserve the flavor from fresh ingredients, and not mask their original taste.
